Yesterday's Pembroke train arrived at Parkway on diesel and the return left Parkway on diesel.AC-Diesel changeover point is east of Bristol Parkway; unless trains are terminating and headed back towards Swindon, or going on to Stoke Gifford. As to exactly why that’s the setup I don’t know, but they are generally trying to maximise electric running so it won’t be without good reason.
Electric running from Parkway started at the end of last year, so not sure why trains were heading east on diesel unless fault or maintenance of the wires?
Drivers of down services generally fire up the diesels after Westerleigh Jn although some wait until the Parkway stop. Have seen plenty of services arrive Parkway with pan up.
