That's an unusual and risky way of doing things IMHO. I've never been told that if I don't hear anything by a certain date I've passed, but I am unfamiliar with the railway! Mine was a definite 'you'll hear either way' but congrats on passing.

Yes the waiting is torture, even though I know I've passed the MMI! So close to the end and now it's all out of my hands as far as the medical goes - I can't research or prepare for the medical.

When did you have your assessment centre? I'm just wondering if any of the people that passed with me are still in the process. They were a good bunch of guys and girls.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, I guess I just have take her word for it and assume I'm through, they seem to be doing different things for different jobs, mines gtr1403 for ashford depot. Hopefully I'll get the call soon, I did my assement day on 24th May, only 3 of us got through that.

I think we may have been on the same assessment day. Just done my MMI and awaiting the result now. I was told the same about the email within the hour, but I'm not getting my hopes up until I've got solid confirmation. Congrats on passing yours though mate

It's sort of a relief to hear that I'm not the only one being told about the email! Don't understand why they can't just say yes or no at the same time though!

Basically I think they have to mark your answers against a national standard, therefore can't tell you then and there, hense the hour. Then I guess they wait until all have completed the MMI who were elegible and deliver results on the same day for everyone.

Not yet, she asked me what my notice period was and if I had holiday, and would get back to me once she's found a course to go on. The medical will be probably my notice period plus a week or so before the start date I guess. Seems they want this batch of trainees to start fairly quickly though, which looking through this forum isn't always the case.

The earliest I can start is the end of September unfortunately. I want to get the medical out of the way!

I actually wasn't expecting it to go this quickly. Was thinking more like a year from application.

Yeah when I applied I found this forum and saw how long people were waiting, felt like it would be a lengthy process, so should count ourselves quite lucky, providing they do give us a start date and pass our medicals!

How long after your MMI did you have it? When do you start? I'm assuming you passed your medical?

I passed my Medical 12 days after my MMI. I was told I had passed the MMI about 20 minutes after leaving the MMI. The Medical date and the course start date was arranged at that point.

I'm due to start training in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't worry to much, the process seems to vary a fair bit for everyone with no obvious reason as to why. They seem to be processing many more applicants at one time now. When I attended the assessment day there were only 6 of us at the start and only 3 got to the end.

They took over 3 weeks to tell me I had passed the DMI and some who had there's the same day as me were notified the same day!
No rhyme or reason, good luck!

Same situation as you, we'll probably find out same day for medicals. Hoping it will be no later than Friday. But it seems that some on 1403 have already had medicals and start dates, so maybe they're setting up moe start dates, it's the only thing that I could I think would delay it.

Nothing yet but I'm not too worried. I can't do anything until the end of September anyway but on my application the status has changed to offer stage so I know things have progressed since the MMI.

I'm on /1403 and I start next week. I think they may have been an intake before my group too.
