That's quite nice, presumably the 180s won't get that livery though?

They could do with a livery that looks pre-smoked

That livery is nice, reminds me of the SNCF "En Voyage" IC livery.

They do look nicer than a 180, I would happily travel on one with coat hanger up.

Taking a tip from the RAF with a high visibility black nose............
Did no-one tell them it only works in silhouette?

The sooner these arrive for HT, the better. They're having a torrid time of it at the moment with the 180's.

Being an open-access operator, has much been said about the interior for these units? Presumably it's not subject to the usual DfT mandated standard?

Bit late to this discussion (I know). Since this order is part of the GWR 802 order with Eversholt Rail for First Group, I would expect the interior to be the same as the GWR units.

The TPE ones we also part of the same orders were they? They’re getting TPE specified interiors, so highly likely Hull Trains is specifying their interior.

Aren’t the GWR ordered 802s having the same basic DfT specified interiors of the 80x?

The official line is that the Hull 802s will have 20 per cent more seats than a Class 180.

Taking 272 seats and adding 54 gives 326, which sounds to me as though it will be fitted out just like a GWR five-car 800 or 802.

No, there were not. Completely separate procurement for both fleets - nothing to do with the GWR options. But there was a cost to moving away from the Hitachi standard interior spec. and delivery timescales would have slipped if they did. December 2019 was a must because that was when the new ECML Timetable was originally scheduled to be in and 180 units would have been too slow for the likely new paths that HT would have been offered.

I wonder if we'll finally get a seat selection map on HT's website when these start running?!

At least, unlike for example Northern, they dont need to train hundreds of drivers for just one route so it may happen fairly quickly.

They've been borrowing TPE's new 802s for crew training (as far as I'm aware), so I suspect they want a very swift rollout of them.

May HT not have any choice? The 180s are wanted at MML promptly aren't they?

From what I can remember they started borrowing the TPE IETs before the East Midlands franchise was awarded.

Also unless I'm mistaken don't Grand Central have first refusal over where the HT 180s go?

Please HTs, give us a seat selector map when your news trains come into service!

Clearly not, as they have been announced internally as going to the East Midlands franchise.
