91101 likely to be heading South to Bounds Green this afternoon.
View media item 33952 together even more unusual?91101 is currently stabled on platform 2 at Doncaster, an unusual sight seeing one solo like this!
That is one of the three I require for haulage, along with 122 and 130.
According to the image of the sheet of paper at the open day at Crewe a few pages ago, 101 is down for being withdrawn in May 2020, with 122 in March 2020, but there was no mention of 130 at all.
Does anybody know when 130 is planned to be withdrawn, and if 101 and 122 are still to be withdrawn on the stated dates?
It's out of service today, I'm afraid. Is 91103 still out and about on passenger services ? If so any idea of the diagram(s)
Many thanks in advance ..
Thanks for that .. i dont suppose you know when/whether it is likely to see service again .. was going to go chasing it but its a good way from Stoke to the ECML for nothing ..It's out of service today, I'm afraid.
WNXX has a photo of 03 in service at Edinburgh on Sat 17th Aug, so it looks like it might get a few more trips up and down the ECML before the axe falls. Thanks for that .. i dont suppose you know when/whether it is likely to see service again .. was going to go chasing it but its a good way from Stoke to the ECML for nothing ..

Is this the 1st coach to be officially scrapped (apart from Hatfield and Potters Bar units)?A Mk4 coach (12455) has apparently been takento CF Boothsfor scrap (not necessarily at Booths).

Was anything wrong with that particular coach? I can understand the owning ROSCO not seeing a future use for class 91s, as the DaFT have seen to it that inferior stock will take over almost everything the 91s would be suitable for. It seems madness to scrap mark 4s though unless it's just a few which have serious issues.A Mk4 coach (12455) has apparently been takento CF Boothsfor scrap (not necessarily at Booths).
There's plenty Mk4 Open Standards left for any future duties. I'm not sure if 12455 had any specific faults however. Was anything wrong with that particular coach? I hope preservationists are ready to take on 91110 and 91031.
No someone's take the bellows off so it looks a bit odd!Is the end-doorframe meant to be like that?!
Tis' a shame that the first coach is going to scrap. Do you think that somebody could contact the ROSCO and buy a seat from a withdrawn coach? I'm sure that many would want to buy one for their homeView attachment 67487 A shot of 12455 on the low loader.
Looks like it has been well stripped.
Really irritating to see these carriages going. Far nicer to travel in than their replacements.
You can only make as many rakes as you have TSOE vehicles, as they're the only ones with loco-compatible couplers. So unless you're going to make every rake nine carriages long (or start retrofitting couplers) you will have surplus carriages. TfW are taking three four-carriage rakes, so that's fifteen spares already.Seems very premature to be scrapping mk4's, given that we're not exactly awash with spare, legislation compliant IC stock.
