Not heard anything complete silence my end, I do notice that they are still advertising for qualified drivers which seems to be going on for a few months now.

Do trainee drivers and qualified drivers have a different wage? I understand you get full pay when training to be signaller?

Had my class assessment today. 4 paper test then 4 computer tests. Said they'll email me next week whether I pass or not. Spoke to the people and they said there's a ton of applicants still to go so be patient. I waited 2 months since my application till I got into an assessment and I skipped past the telephone interview

I've not heard anything since their confirmation of passing telephone interview. I was tempted to give them a call to see what's happening but thought otherwise as I guess being patient and they will surely get round to organising next stage for those that have passed. I assume there were hundreds if not thousands of applications.

I'm in the same boat KOA,
Nothing since being told id passed phone interview.
I haven't rung either.having experience now of applying for train driver jobs,it seems this industry doesn't seem to follow the same pattern as the rest of the work places.
You got to just get on with life and have this application on the back burner.

when did you guys have your telephone interview.... i passed mine on 3rd aug... just trying to guess when i might get an email (if lucky)

Had mine at the start of May, but I know people who had an interview after me and got to the assessment centre before me. Just depends on how high your pass is and what depots need drivers.

Good morning everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the GWR talent pool for me?

After pasing both interviews for the role of Manoeuvrer Maintainer at Reading Care Depot, i recieved this email:

Dear Scott,

Regarding your application for the role of Manoeuvrer Maintainer, reference 3639

You were successful at your interview for the role applied for.

You will therefore be placed in a talent pool for Mano. Maintainer at Reading Depot, pending further information regarding these vacancies.

We will contact you as soon as we have further information.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Does anyone have any idea how long i could be waiting for this?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

A lot will depend on the "forthcoming" mainline driver course(s). There are a number of Manos who have applied and been successful for the role and are now just waiting course dates.

I presume any outstanding Mano vacancies have been filled and the talent pool is standby for as and when the courses start to filter through.

I got the email today and will be attending the assessment centre on 2nd November. As I failed last time on the 2 hand coordination, I think that's all I have to take but will be doing all the practice questions just as a refresher. I'm quite excited about being in the process again and hope we all do well.

I'll be attending on 7th November, good luck to all.

It would be great to hear some feedback from people once they've attended.

My understanding from the invitation email was that we have the mmi interview on the same day as the assessments ?

That's also what I was expecting. I've sat the assessments with FGW before they rebranded and everything was done on the same day then :s

Good luck with the DMI Kev, which depot have you applied for? When did you do your stage 1? Just trying to roughly work out when to expect a similar email.

Hi Ewie, I did both my stage 1 and stage 2 with another toc earlier this year. So I've only got my DMI to do. I've applied for Oxford.

Hope you hear something soon.

I've just received an email informing me I've completed the stage 1 assessments and to await an email for stage 2. Is this a standard email or does it mean I passed the assessments at stage 1? Excited anyway :D

Well sat the assesment yesturday with around 13 others.
Tests were what we were told we would do.
Paper tests then break for lunch then computer tests.
No MMI on the day,was told if we passed test then that would come later.
I personally thought I would do better on the computer tests, but made a couple of stupid mistakes.the screen with the grey square I hit twice by mistake, resting fingers on green button(what a tw@t).
Bourdon test went well, found it easier on the computer practice program though as it's clearer.
Also stupid spelling mistake in the written report.
So left Swindon feeling dissapointed that I'd blown it and should of done better.
You know if you done your best but don't make the grade then there's no point getting upset, but I felt I threw it away almost.
Today though...just got a email saying id completed first stage of assesment and await email for next stage (mmi ??? Have I passed ???)
Then goes on to say timescales for next stage may change due to work place requirements !
Anyone else had this mail ?

Unfortunately it's a standard message just to say you have completed the tests..... not passed. We received ours on the day last Tuesday, we were all excited also then the HR lady who conducted the day told us it was just a confirmation.

Good luck though, I received my email saying I had passed yesterday.

how do you feel it went?
