I thought the Northern brand belonged to the DfT. The only bit missing would be the "by Arriva"

Are 158 906/10 still at Crewe?
906 is still at Crewe. 910 came back yesterday (5E17 18:00 Crewe Works - Neville Hill) and is in traffic today on the Leeds-Knottingley circuit (next working is 2A16 1440 Knottingley-Leeds).

158 on Knottingleys. To me that's a waste of what is probably Northern best dmu.

Seen 158910 tonight, it's missing the 'by Arriva' decals so must have had them applied after Wednesday's announcement

Useful hint - change the TOC on RTT detailed search to ZZ (freight services) cuts out the NT ECS moves.

Also STP Wolverton - Allerton moves today.

Thanks.
Your Allerton to Wolverton is from NH I think it should be

Looks like most if not all the booked paths to from works today look like not being taken up. Bit like booking an appointment at the doctors and not turning up.

With regards to 323's 223 - 225, those are the ones with the case racks that the others don't have.
I wonder if the refurb for those three will take the racks out and add seats?
That's the plan, so the fleet is standardised.

Presumably there are seats removed from the other sets when they receive PRM modifications that will then be available for re-use in these three. No shortage of seats as the West Mids sets are also getting PRM work.

Depends what you mean by refurbishing as Northern seem to have a number of phases Starting with PRM mods going on to new seats wi fi etc.
I believe there was a further phase to do the drivers cabs as these have been largely untouched.
However I have 36 units still not had PRM work (10 150, 11 156, 2 158, 13 323) and 98 still requiring interior refresh.
This includes those in works as well as the units presumably 150s that returned/ went to Crewe yesterday as I dont have numbers.

The refurbished 158s are almost identical to the 195s and 331s minus the PIS

They have definitely been bought up to scratch minus the legroom

Since this is going to be nationalised are they keeping the same livery or will they change it again

I doubt anything will change, especially as it is now officially taxpayers' money (as opposed to unofficially via subsidy) being spent.

There is a thread in the "Speculative Ideas" section discussing whether or not a rebrand would be worthwhile given that the last two franchises known as Northern have not exactly covered the name in glory!

Just a gentle reminder that this thread is to discuss Northern Unit Refurbishments

If anyone wishes to discuss anything else, the forum has plenty of spare capacity for additional threads. There is no need to try to cram loads of topics into one thread ;)
