You would have just had to hope the water wouldn't freeze at it passed through, otherwise it would have been like in cartoons where it instantly freezes into an icicle.

And keeping within the spirit of the thread said icicle would have been long and thin <D

I feel kind of guilty with regards to this thread now

I think a hose pipe may have been a little excessive, but something like that had to be done. They deserved as much. Well done honey Kernowfem :)

On second thoughts a bar of strong, Sheffield steel would be a good weapon to wield

Just read through the entire thread again, and - even at 02:30 - have left myself in fits of giggles...

"Blokes" inspecting a 33 and not a pair of ~33s?
Clanking along at <25mph?
Men called "metrehighclubmember"?
Drivers having too few knobs and handles to play with?
Hot chocolate?
"Birthday" presents?
And not to mention all of this, um, flirting [of mine]?

Ayiyi... Maybe it wasn't so pointless after all. And speaking of which, guess who has posted the most in this thread...

I shall be sending a very heartfelt PM to a certain female member before I go to bed... it took half an hour to write

Oh, one more point...

Are you some sort of honorary northerner or something?

If the conditions in Carmarthen 36 hours ago are anything to go by I'm more of a northerner than you are!:D:p:D:lol:

I think all this talk of hoses and getting wet is very apt indeed in a thread of this nature

To be honest, an open skull fracture wouldnt have been excessive either. This was a criminal, attempting to nick somebodies car. If you dont give him an open skull fracture, he will just try somebody elses car next time. Eventually he will succeed. One day it'll be an old lady he tries to nick a car from, and it'll all be too much for her. I find it highly unlikely he was just a chancer, and he is never going to try and nick another car again. Of course he is.
Now is a bit of cold water excessive Ivo? I dont think so. Now lets find that bit of steel and give him the fractured skull. Its necessary to stop these people. They dont understand anything else.

Unfortunately the police see it differently, and call you the criminal when you do that. Its about time rules were changed so we could put a stop to these criminals once and for all.

Kernowfem is oviously skilled with a cold hose, so perhaps certain posters should watch out if they try anything!

Then again, they might think it worth it to see her in her PJs (even if the cold hose might cause certain things to not work correctly).

That reminds me of a recent break in at a local police station. The thieves made off with all the toilet bowls.
A police spokesman said they had nothing to go on

It's OK I have already got my coat !

You would equate ruining someone's quality of life permanently with nicking a car? Quite worrying really. How do you know he wasn't a chancer? How do you know he didn't just think nice car, I'll have that, rather than being a career criminal? These people are not sub-human. And to think that is getting into very dangerous waters.

Really? Then why do education and rehabilitation work so well in the justice system?

Unfortunately the police see it differently, and call you the criminal when you do that. Its about time rules were changed so we could put a stop to these criminals once and for all.
And that's because you would be a criminal. Call be old fashioned, but I class Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent much worse than nicking a car.

I explained why in my original post, but i will explain again. There is a chance he will attempt to nick another car. There is a chance the next person could be an old lady, and this could prove to much for her. These are possibilities, and chances we cannot take. I dont think it fair to give criminals the chance to nick cars off of old ladys, so stop them before its too late. So, the fact he has already tried to nick someones car, combined with the possible consequences if said person decides to nick a pensioners car, make it a very fair punishment. OK, they may not try and nick some pensioners car, but we cannot take that chance. They have already shown they dont care about other people feelings, so there is a good chance they wont give two hoots about some vulnerable pensioner.

Yes, the justice system can work, but then you are taking the chance that the car thief will be caught. If they arent caught, then the above is still possible.

Yes, grievous bodily harm with intent is worse than nicking cars in everyday situations, but not when it comes to dealing with this car thief, for the reasons stated above.
Finally, for these car thieves, yes i think ruining their way of life is very fair, again, for the reasons stated above. I dont think they deserve to be given the chance of ruining other peoples lives. So stop them in their tracks.

OK, if it was me having my car nicked, i severely doubt i would be able to smack someone over the head (unless i really did need to). But I would never have a go at someone that did. Take that farmer for instance. He should never have been sent to jail. He did a good deed. The thief deserved it.

Again I'm in agreement with ralphchadkirk. I'm getting less surprised by this and am thinking maybe it was our initial disagreement on some aspect of fares policy that was the aberration.

Someone drilled a hole in the fence of the local nudist colony last night. The police are looking into it.

That wasn't heartfelt!!!!! I've only ever sent one heartfelt PM on this forum, in 15 months of activity. Even if said PM was only 24 hours ago.

Basically I asked a question (OK, more than one) and said that I will buy him a pint next time we meet in person. That was the offer in question.

I could almost guarantee that the criminal wouldn't think twice about doing the same to you, and in that respect (and in all seriousness) Kernowfem can count herself lucky that she wasn't another "statistic".

That was MY vehicle he thought "nice car, i'll have that!" He had no right to so much as lay a finger on it!!!

Chancer or career criminal the intent to take my car was there, that makes him a theiving scum bag!!

Maybe he should get off his arse, get a job, behave himself and then maybe he too could have a nice motor without nicking someone elses. Im already supporting the jobless scroat by paying tax (as is every working person person in this country) and now he wants to help himself to my stuff???

And before you ask me how i know he's jobless, he was nicked yesterday after trying to steal a range rover sport, the police said he was well known to them. Nor is he very bright, he was wearing exactly what he wore when he tried to rip me off.

Victims of crime are the actual victims not the criminal....and i would also class the amount of road deaths that are the result of stolen vehicles ARE considerably worse than GBH. Here's hoping the next time he goes on a spree he meets more than his match!

Prevention is better than the cure in my opinion. If i stopped the rat nicking my car and slamming it into someone else on the road, then as far as im concerned i did a good job.

It's all well and good actually nicking a car.... but you have to think about the long term consequences. What exactly did he want to nick it for? What would he have done with it??

Landrovers may not be very fast, but they are built like tanks and as such can do far more damage to someone than your average family vehicle.

Maybe a ram raid on sports direct for more caps and jogging bottoms was on the cards...or maybe an armed robbery? Who knows, and because i stood up to the parasite, fortunatley we wont be reading about it in the news.

Oh look, he was a career criminal. That fractured skull now looks far from too severe. He wouldnt have thought twice about nicking from some pensioner. Pushing them to the ground in an attempt to get off with the car. God knows what that could have done. As i said, a fractured skull is a very good way of making sure he cannot ruin the lives of other people. Ruin his instead. He deserves it.
