Is 43172 the 'Harry Patch WW1' one? That one, the name etc., should continue onto one of the 80x series IMHO.
Yes and no. Yes as it would continue his legacy. No because it would only be a vinyl and that's not a nameplate, only cast plates count.

IP31 just passed me at Henwick with 43193 on the front and I missed the back power car but I saw it had a nameplate with a longish name.
I think 43022 and 43171 were supposed to be on IP31.

43193 was with 43191 on Saturday, but 43191 is not named.

Do we know what effect the Whiteball works will have on HST diagramming at all? Or is it impossible to tell?
Trying to organise a trip that ticks 3 boxes if I can - HST, Pullman, and WoE divert.

Saw elsewhere that up and until yesterday, the diagrams hadn't been finalised

OK well RTT has been updated on the day I'm planning to go, to a VAR showing the diversion and also the extension to pnz. Just fingers crossed HST.
Bit strange on the way back though, everything coming eastwards terminates at Plymouth, and everything eastwards from there starts at Plymouth.

EDIT: There are a few showing terminating Plymouth P4, with a service after that starting from P4 to London, so I assume it's the same train but split into two workings for some reason.

Afternoon chaps,

I'd just like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have contributed to this thread with top gen and info.
Thanks especially to the diagram posters. I'm on the final day of an ALR, been traveling the length and bridth of the country to have one last "mega HST" bash to enjoy these iconic classic trains that we all know and love one last time on the original routes they were built for before they all disappear.
I've been all over the FGW/GWR network these past few days and your diagrams and gen postings here and on the other thread have not failed me once yet!
I'm very happy to finally have caught up with 43185 "Great Western" looking stunning in original IC livery here on 1B37 through a very snowy Wiltshire to the Welsh capital this afternoon.
A most fitting end to an enjoyable few days on HST's I think.
Non of this would have been possible without all of your contributions here in this thread, so thanks a lot guys!

Cheers, Kris. :D

On Friday 1st Feb saw an IET on the 21.45 Paddington-Exeter St Davids, at Tiverton Parkway, not sure wether was a 802 or 800 as was doing taxi fare so was sat in taxi, is this a regular IET turn now?

I’m at PAD also going to PLY. According to the ticket office, who checked with control, the 1303 is IET. I’m waiting in hope that the 1403 or later are HSTs.

Anyone know the HST ex PAD trains today please?

And also those returning from PLY tomorrow.

Many thanks - Morpethcurve. A call with info would be vastly appreciated, 7909975257

Yes, usually a 9-car 800 - returns on 1A08 0628 Exeter St Davids to London Paddington via Bristol Temple Meads.

I was misinformed. I am on the 1303 and it’s an HST. I hope I haven’t messed things up for you.

Does anyone know if there will be any HST's operating from Paddington to Exeter on the 16th April 2019? or will they all be 800/802 operations by then.

Should be 0903 PAD - PLY and 1103 PAD - PLY, obviously engineering works could affect this.

I notice on the frequently requested diagrams thread there are a couple of services that are still currently HST to Cheltenham, however this information is only valid until the end of March. Does anyone know the likelihood that the following diagram will remain so after this date (I'm thinking mid-April)?
Saturdays:

IW12

1A09 08.30 Bristol TM - Paddington
1B25 10.45 Paddington - Swansea
1L71 14.29 Swansea - Paddington
1G60 18.15 Paddington - Cheltenham

Valid until Sunday 24th March 2019

No that diagram actually finishes later this month!

The 1c78 ( 21/02) 11.03 PAD - PLY is a HST ( confirm through GWR) and is being diverted via Yeovil Pen Mill/Yeovil Junction,Chard S/B,Axminster,Honiton & Exeter St.Davids finally arriving at Newton Abbott @ 14.44. Sorry, but I am not sure of the timings for Plymouth as I am only going as far as NTA

Travelling on Weds 6th February, had HST on 14.45 Paddington-Swansea, did all the way to Swansea, and back to Bristol Parkway which by looks of it is not booked HST, so very lucky and surprised, maybe pretty much last ride on a GWR HST.

Does the removal of the weekday spare HST imply that after this weekend an HST failure on the day will have to be replaced by an IET?
