Excellent news, this means the Strathspey is within sight of running between two fair sized towns and with a main line connection.

Transport Scotland will build a bridge for the railway to run under as part of a scheme to realign a section of the A95. It's a few years away yet.

Great to see the bridge being put in place and BBC Scotland plugging it on the local news.
    Fair play to all involved.

According to a large-scale OS map on the NLS site, about 100 feet between pillars.

the strathspey railway state on their web site that the "gap" is 80 feet. I seem to remember that the length of the girders when they were in use at Ravenscraig was 27 metres, although the web site does not state as to whether the girder length has been altered during the refurbishment. I know that there have been some alterations, since the skew on the Dulnain bridge differs from the Ravenscraig installation.

Was a double track bridge at Merry St If I remember correctly it was a 9ft skew. It has gone back in as a single track bridge on the opposite skew using the two outer girders. The bridge decks were held in with 1000+ 1" dia bolts.
