I guess that the start date of repaints will be dependent on whether the 442s are available for the December timetable.

14 are required, 12 in service. If all the 442s are available by then I will eat my hat.
Oh yes, sorry I forgot about that. You should mark the ones that are currently being done
No, lots of partially refurbished 450s have already been converted into the finished products for e.g. 450111, 450079, 450007 e.t.c.110 is the first semi refurbished unit to get the full treatment then?
Blimey yes I see ! A quick jobNo, lots of partially refurbished 450s have already been converted into the finished products for e.g. 450111, 450079, 450007 e.t.c.
Walls probably wont change. Makes sense since the blue sorta goes with the SWR colour scheme. The rails and tables will hopefully change Something to ask next week in SouthamptonBlimey yes I see ! A quick job
Of course even the full refurbishment hsve tables walls and vestibule rails untouched
My guess is that once they ascertained the work required it was simply too much to do within the committed timescale for the refurb. I remember when TPE did the 185 refurbs they said how difficult it was removing the grabrails and other components due to just how solidly the trains were built.Walls probably wont change. Are we talking about 450 seat back tables now, because the only proper tables, in the resited first class area, are new.Walls probably wont change. Makes sense since the blue sorta goes with the SWR colour scheme. The rails and tables will hopefully change Something to ask next week in Southampton
No the tables that have 4 seats around themAre we talking about 450 seat back tables now, because the only proper tables, in the resited first class area, are new.
So they cant have a new colour applied without being removed then? LNR seemed to have managed it well with their refurbishment? My guess is that once they ascertained the work required it was simply too much to do within the committed timescale for the refurb. When SWT gave the 450s a (very) light refresh a few years ago, components such as grabrails were touched up in situ rather than being removed and recoated as Southern did with their Electrostars.
None on a 450 surely, except in First? It was partial to full 450 refurbs under discussion? No the tables that have 4 seats around them
The usual way to treat a grab rail is to remove the whole thing and powdercoat it. Bit difficult doing it in situ.So they cant have a new colour applied without being removed then? LNR seemed to have managed it well with their refurbishment?
Thats odd as like i said LNR have desiros and they have managed to remove the rails and re paint all of them very wellThe usual way to treat a grab rail is to remove the whole thing and powdercoat it. Bit difficult doing it in situ.
Nothing odd about it at all if you read my posts. I was talking about the speedy turnarounds required for each refurb. With LNR what did the refurbs entail and how long did each unit take?Thats odd as like i said LNR have desiros and they have managed to remove the rails and re paint all of them very well
Only 1 unit has been done so far. Not alot is known about the condition inside since it was taken out of service the next day except 1 video which doesn’t show alot.Nothing odd about it at all if you read my posts. Meant 444s in standardNone on a 450 surely, except in First? It was partial to full 450 refurbs under discussion?
The 450s take 4-5 days to do, so there may be the difference.Only 1 unit has been done so far. Not alot is known about the condition inside since it was taken out of service the next day except 1 video which doesn’t show alot.
We know like the SWR refurb though. New seat covers. Re painted rails. New carpets throughout. First class isnt going to be relocated however but new PIS dislays have been installed alongside current old dislays. Plugs are expected to be there but no footage yet.
Interior took 1 week to do like SWR however with it being the first unit it does take a while compared to when refurbishment program really gets going
But in general whether its a 350 or 450 or 444 its a week inside and a week outside. Even if its specifically just 5 days (a working week)The 450s take 4-5 days to do, so there may be the difference.
Oh well, whatever. What would I know anyway? Perhaps someone on the project decided they liked orange with blue. Let's move on.But in general whether its a 350 or 450 or 444 its a week inside and a week outside. Even if its specifically just 5 days (a working week)
