Not forgetting Cannon Street and Charing Cross, which, I think, are now only served by Southeastern

well, somewhere between a hostel and a Guest House really, but when its entirely booked up by Network Rail staff (as hapened last year), then it effectively becomes just another part of the railway, so you COULD argue that even that building isn't there!
Prestwick International Airport station has already taken that honour in Scotland I believe, but you are correct that that will be the first such case in England.
Stockton was definitely in Co Durham. I suspect the Tees was the boundary between Durham and the North Riding at this point. However, although Thornaby is postally Stockton on Tees (TS17), it is south of the Tees, so I'm not sure which it would have been.
Broadly speaking of the boroughs that made up Cleveland, Hartlepool and Stockton were formally Co Durham, and Middlesbrough and Langbaurgh were the North Riding. Obviously this is not 100% correct because Yarm was/is part of the borough/unitary authority of Stockton on Tees, but was very much North Riding before 1974.
Charing Cross has some off peak trains run by Southern
Does it? I was under the impression Southern no longer served Charing Cross at all :?
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/chx/details.html suggests it does, although I can't find any trains in the planner.
High Rocks (on the Spa Valley line) - possibly the only station where public access to the platform is only allowed while a train is present in the platform.
not sure if this has been said
Smallbrook Junction, only station to be interchange only
This is also the case at Cornbrook on the Manchester Metrolink, and apparantly at Dovey Junction

Norwood Junction; The only station (that im aware of) that is featured on Wikipedia with a person riding a bike into the ticket hall.
Manchester Piccadilly, only station with trains to wales in opposite directions?
Wikpedia says not... Cornbrook was orginally, but there is now access to the station.
Dovey Junction also does have pedestrian access, but no road for 3/4 mile.
Is Shrewsbury the only station outside London with platforms stretching across a significant river?
That is genius.

..Is Shrewsbury the only station outside London with platforms stretching across a significant river?
And what of Bristol TM?
Ok-- two stations but unless you know different...
Waterloo East and New Cross are the only two stations where the platforms are not numbered but only use letters in both cases platform A, B, C and D.
