All before my time, but from old timetable books, I think the Edinburgh-Alloa service had gone by the mid-70s. The Falkirk-Boness-Edinburgh service was a Scotmap creation (and joint Midland/Eastern until Midland got Linlithgow), but I think it survived in some form until quite recently (well, maybe 10-15 years ago, I’m getting old???). I can definitely remember seeing First buses heading out to Falkirk through South Queensferry. It’s a shame Linlithgow depot closed, it seemed ideal for the 38 and 43 and would just be coming into its own as Winchburgh and the west of Edinburgh expand. Can’t remember – did it close for economic reasons or to redevelop the site?
