Whats your least favourite train advert, mine is the Virgin trains advert about some 'popular' squeaky clean business man traveling to some presentation and lots of fans are standing at the stations celebrating him. I bet a lot of business men think they're like that ****. I absolutely hate that advert along with a long list of other adverts.

Why the negativity? I actually really like that advert, it's quite fun, as are most of the Virgin ones! :)

Ditto, I hate most railway ads, but the one that currently is getting RIGHT up my nostrils is the 'Trainline' ad, with all the sheep, except for the smug looking prat who has prebooked.

Do I detect an anti-business bias here? As I recall the advert (which i may be mis-remembering, not having seen it for some time), he gets on the train s*** scared because he has to prepare a presentation, but the journey (and the crowds) give him the inspiration and encouragement he needs. And, yes, lots of businessmen do feel stressed about giving presentations:(

Stressed and Nervous so the encouragement on the train is something I could do with at some points haha :P

You also see Richard Branson mopping the floors

Also, I dislike the Network Southeast one in the other thread..

That Virgin advert is a bit weird in that the train sets off from Glasgow, supposedly and travels south to Preston - yet the train arrives into Preston from the south into a northbound platform; also the where 'Preston' morphs into 'Presentation' on the ticket, it would normally have said 'Preston Lancs', couple of continuity errors there :p

they are hardly going to be accurate in a train advert, the people they are targeting won't really care about the wires.

as above, 'accuracy' isn't the term coming into a marketers mind.

Probally because NXEC is going bankrupt that they had to use a hornby train!.

Even so there are hornby trains avalible with a overhead system.

Anyway my most hated train advert of all time is that cheaply made "SouthEastern" one where you can see it was made very cheaply and it was very pointless and gets on your nerves after showing it time after time again.

If anyone is wondering what one I am talking about it's the one shown early this year and at the end it says "SouthEastern" "make a conection".

speaking of inaccuracies, has anyone else noticed that on the Virgin ads, they dub over the noise of a Valenta?
Aparently they did so because its a sound people associate with fast trains...

Like to see the TOCs who have just had MTUs fitted do that :p

Anyway a sound I associate with fast trains is passengers moaning because of the chronic overcrowding, although I don't think that would work as an advertisement.

If we're going to be that pedantic about the accuracy of these adverts, can someone tell me the TOPS class and commission/introduction dates for the interesting "flat bed" rolling stock that can be seen in This advert?:razz:;)

...And following on from the same; When will we be getting 91+Mk. III workings running past the Moon, too? ;)

They are technically the fastest trains that run solely in the UK, beating the Pendolino/220/221/HSTs etc by 15mph.
