Thanks, Sam

Hope DRS's postage stamps are big enough, Broken 37405 is off on a low loader to Booths, sorry Barrow Hill this evening.
Mind you, apart from the fact it's only down the road - you could probably find some better examples of running 37/4s down there!
Christ, now is not a happy time for 37/4s or their fans. Theres shortly to be nothing left of many of my favourite locos but memories and photographs.CF Booths Rotherham update
So far, only 37427 and 47829 have been totally disposed of.
37417 is still reported to be intact but its internals have gone now.
20313 latest arrival
On site: 20306/313, 37087/406/410/411/415/416/417/426/428/683/696, 47791

Wandering around the rusting hulks doesn't strike me as much of an entertaining day out to be honest, even if I didn't have umpteen more interesting things to be doing. I think I'll leave Booths to it, and accept that what is past has passed (Though that doesn't mean that I have to like it)!Might be worth a trip to Booths then?
Sorry to go slightly off topic folks but wondered what's going on with the pres 37/4s? Sorry if any of the following is incorrect but best can manage from memory:
37403 - Undergoing overhaul at bo'ness, PU back in about a month ago so what's left now before we get a start up?
37418 - Having the PU off 893 fitted at bury not sure how far along this is now?
37421 - Having bodywork repairs\repaint into regional railways livery at pontypool, looks almost complete from recent phots i've seen of it.
37407/424 - Stored at cheddleton on CVR, heard rumours going around that there was a plan to make a goodun out of the 2? Either way though both of em look pretty wrecked.
Any gen on these much appreciated.

I believe that the Retro Railtours trip in April has requested a pair of DRS 20s.20 tour, don't be silly, the amount that have gone, i'l be surprised if there will be any left.
37403 is well on it's way back? That's wonderful to hear - Given the state that it was taken off EWS' hands, it's quite miraculous, and with 37418 seemingly on the way back too, I suppose that it isn't all doom and gloom on the 37/4 front at all!Re 37403: zero hours engine and TPWS fitted, OTMR to be fitted this month. Start up planned early this year. Next plan is bogies and then cabs

37428 and 37683 to be cut next!
37417 has been cut, stored 12/2008 from the WFMU pool at Toton, RIP
Thanks, Sam
37683 has now been cut up at last, 37428 is next.
20315 is the only class 20 left for transfer from carlisle to booths i think.
Got to love irony and the world of DRS, it's only a few years ago since they last had a Mk3 rake. Used it on the Stobart Pullman (replaced the Blue Pullman Mk2s), Then smartened it up with the intention to use it on the 'Ocean Liner Express' venture in partnership with UK Railtours, This failed, Hardly tried to use it for any spot hire use and subsequently stored it before selling it to DB Regio.
Have they done the same trick again by purchasing only Mk3 FOs?
But the point of purchasing the Mk3s is anyone's guess - The DVT, works with the Mk3s, Push Pull capability. But, it has (magazine only) been listed down as being used to test the ARR capability on the 68s, which i thought weren't gaining any Multi Working systems?

Are 20301-20304 stored pending the RHTT season or will DRS use them if 20308 & 20312 are out of traffic?

Could you put a description on coaches in future please, as far as I know you can't tell just from a number whether it is a mrk3 FO or a mrk2 TSO unless you happen to remember the numbers of each individual coach and what type it is (or look that vehicle number up on the web).

Look for clarity I will include sectioning :roll:MARK 2 and 3 coaches are numbered in series
Mk2 and Mk 3 series
4 digit numbers
1st digit
1 catering
3 first
5or6 second
9 brake second
5 digit numbers
1st 2 digits
10 catering or sleeper
11 first
12 second
13 first corridor
17 brake (either)
there are oddities, usually rebuilds like lounge cars that don't fit this pattern, but most do.
the 10xxx 11xxx and 12xxx and 17173-175 are Mk3s. 13xxx and most 17xxx are Mk2s!
