Has nobody noticed yet that 43002's livery isn't quite right?
The 'InterCity 125' lettering on the side should have black fill, not blue.
This was a result of the original plan for yellow/black livery being changed to yellow/blue.
The lettering vinyls had already been made up according to the original plan and rather than scrap them and print off new ones, the GW powercars originally had the black fill. The colour of the GW ones gradually changed to blue as they received overhauls and repaints.
The ER ones (and poss some of the later GW original batch ones) were delivered with blue fill to the lettering IIRC.

Do we know if 43002 or any of the other special livery locos will be in the Reading area at all between 3pm and 6pm? I'm heading down that way and I'd like to grab it if I can!

Just a guess, but maybe 4th October, which is the first day of service for the original HST. (I think.)
Rather helpfully there was no date mentioned :roll:
Ive had a quick look on the NRM website but cant see it mentioned.
Meant to be this Sunday (2nd) - will hopefully have some more info to post shortly
