If you click on the image it will make it full size ;)
Whoops, should've guessed that!! I have to admit the forum definitely does appear to run a lot smoother and doing things like rotating a device doesn't cause issues like before.

A few issues (good and bad) I've noticed so far...
  1. "First unread" takes me to the 5th September. Noted above that this might be just a teething problem so no biggie...
  2. On mobile, the new forum works well in portrait mode, whereas on the old system it zoomed out too far. Good stuff!:D
  3. Other than that, it's just going to take some getting used to. Give me about 18 months!
  4. The "new" icons still show on posts that aren't new to me. Again, probably just a temporary issue.
  5. Where's my Avatar gone? It wasn't there when I first logged back in. EDIT. It seems that the new setup is more fussy about dimensions and my previous image no longer complies. No problem.

Looks nice and shiny, though takes up a little more screen real estate. I'd really like a stripped back, low graphics option. Just like when we used to edit documents with vi and runoff commands...

One question: is it possible to set the number of posts shown per page? It would be great if that could be upped as a user option.

  1. The 'new' icon will sort itself out over time. The Forum index got a bit wonky during the migration.
  2. Sadly some customer avatars went missing (we wish them well on their travels) so will need to be re-uploaded. If you were using a forum default these didn't make the transfer at all.

Think I've worked out the Avatar issue, the new setup seems to have issues with images that are too rectangular!

Sorta related to backend changes, any chance of getting HTTPS around here?

Had some “new reply to watched thread” emails through, 4 so far. Used to get these at about 1 o’clock in the morning.

I note my signature block has disappeared and can't seem to find the edit facility to renew it. I see the change avatar facility but no signature one?

A very minor issue here but I've noticed that double clicking the semaphore no longer marks that forum as "read". This might just be because of teething troubles, but it's just a small observation.

Otherwise it seems good, it's certainly faster on my laptop!

Yup! It's lovely!

[Or it would be if I pressed the right button]

I also love that you don't have to use the tags for text formatting aaaah!!!
The only annoying thing is it doesn't get rid of formatting when copying in from elsewhere, though this is useful as well! Don't like the new advanced posting window though, as there is no box border!

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to get to the most recent page in a thread from an early page.

On the old forum I just clicked something at the top, I think it was called user cp, to see if any of the issues I had contributed to had any updates. How do I get this now????
