I agree that the stripes one does look more professional, but I feel like because it's vinyl, it doesn't look very long-lasting IMOShame, the stripes one looked more professional

Given the planned timescale for refurbishment I doubt that it was ever envisaged that repaints would take place at the same time as the refurbishment. The Modern Railways article stated that repaints would take three years to complete.Well that’s pretty obvious reading the last few months of this thread isn’t it? It’s been perfectly clear for around 6 months that interior and exterior work had been separated, and both programmes were seriously delayed compared to the dates in the franchise agreement.
Yes, I remember. I expect their paint facility that was put in not that long ago at Bournemouth can’t work any faster.Given the planned timescale for refurbishment I doubt that it was ever envisaged that repaints would take place at the same time as the refurbishment. It's effectively a week per unit, given they have 172 units to do.Yes, I remember. I expect their paint facility that was put in not that long ago at Bournemouth can’t work any faster.
There’s a big difference: LNR are not painting their 350s, it’s vinyl.Shame LNR are turning around the repaint of their units a lot faster considering they are nearly all desiro at the moment as well
And iam guessing that paint is cheaper than vinyl on this occasion? There’s a big difference: LNR are not painting their 350s, it’s vinyl.
It isn’t as straightforward as paint vs vinyl. The SWR repaint will probably be the basic overall grey colour with vinyl for the detailing, just as is the case with the 442s.And iam guessing that paint is cheaper than vinyl on this occasion?

Ok thanks for the update.SWR's livery is painted blue and grey, with vinyl for the logos and various information/numbering added on top.
The first few units were all-vinyl, then a couple were finished in part-vinyl (blue areas only), but all-paint is the standard and how the 442s have been done.
So that means that 43% of 159s have the new livery, 33% of 159s have blue seats and 70% of 159s are now PRM compliant159004 has returned to Salisbury TRSMD today.
This matches the photos of the actual thing under construction at Derby a couple of months ago.Updated look of the new 701s (incase anybody wasnt aware)

Sorry if the quality isnt great
No vinyl exterior matching the rest of the fleets updated design

No, the livery is part 2, units we list are the ones with the full interior. Is fully refurbed including having the new livery like 444 040 and 450 111 or is it just a full interior refurbishment?
I would assume a couple more Desiros are now done - I don't have unit numbers though. 159004 was the most recently re-liveried 159.Do we know of any more desiros /diesels units that have been referbed or going to be referbed?
Havant has blue bands around the grey canopy posts now which is more colourful and presumably the agreed branding going forward . Havant looks very smart !
Just saw a voyager trundle through a nornal move at this time?
