What happened to 91120? Has it suffered a similar fault to its sister?Looks like 91120 may be taking 91119's place in being withdrawn at Bounds Green, according to another forum...

Reported on another forum that it had a major failure and is now being used as a source of spare parts. I have no further info than that I'm afraid. What happened to 91120? Has it suffered a similar fault to its sister?
I'm hoping that they might start cadging 90s off Freightliner too.Indeed they do - they can't keep cadging 90s off DB for all eternity.
Unlikely - none of FL's 90s have Mk4-compatible TDMs fitted - only a handful of DB ones do.I'm hoping that they might start cadging 90s off Freightliner too.
(The fact that I haven't had 90048 or 90049 might have some bearing on the above statement!)
Thanks - I didn't know that there was a spec difference.Unlikely - none of FL's 90s have Mk4-compatible TDMs fitted - only a handful of DB ones do.

I don't think so - that's probably why I've never seen them on the ECML hauling/shoving Mk4s.Do you know if DB 90s 028/037/040 are compatible?
And 034 IIRC.Think it is 018/019/020/029/036/039 that can operate for East Coast
It depends on the nature of the lease. In general, though, it is up to the operator to fix it - the owner will expect it back in working order at the end of the lease, unless it suffers terminal damage where owner, operator and relevant insurers will be involved. In normal circumstances there is no interruption of the lease whilst it is broken.Out of interest, what happens to the lease on engines/units which have broken and will not be fixed (or at least wont be fixed for a while)?
Do payments relating to that specific unit stop until such a time the unit re-enters service? If not, does the ROSCO fund the spot-leasing of replacements?
Correct. Moot point anyway as an 88 is top speed 100mph and a 92 87mph (140km/h) - at least 110mph is required to be suitable as a stand-in for a 91.I presume that neither classes 88 or 92 are fitted with the necessary TDM cables and equipment?
Please can someone confirm what this compatibility is - I thought all the 90s had the UIC sockets that the Mark 4 use for push-pull operation? My recollection was that the mods for use on East Coast related to fitting of DRA (hence the 'D' in the WEDC pool code?).
Please excuse my ignorance as I'm just a humble rail enthusiast, what's DRA?
Ta. Thought that was the case. It’s just DRA. There’s no TDM modification. TDM is TDM.
Indeed it is; booked in as 5Z19 to Grantham, then 5Z20 back to Bounds Green.91119 actually still at Bounds Green... Another test run planned overnight tonight, this time to Grantham, with a full set.
So, if 91119 is due to be working on test out of Bounds Green, what is in Donny for repaint?91119 now at Wabtec for repaint, and it won't be LNER / Virgin red,
There was a 90 out yesterday (Sunday 4th). It worked the 0903 KX - Leeds, which I saw arrive Newark 21 late, having left KX 9 late. It was 20 late into Leeds. The 90s do indeed lose time, usually a good 5-10 mins on Leeds or Newark services. While they are quicker off the mark, being limited to 110 mph does pose it's problems.
HSTs, if available, would be the better choice timekeeping wise.
