Yeah pretty sure you can get in earlier from Ayr ! I wonder how many seats is 3 car 314 vs a 2 car 156Quieter, and you have to run 3-cars minimum.
The earlier and later departures are welcome, definitely needed earlier trains into the Central.

I think it will be a good few months yet. The 380s will probably come back from the E&G and replace some of them on the Gourock line. But the rest will have to wait until drivers have been trained on 385s.Anyone have any idea on when the withdrawal of the 314s will take place now that the 385s are finally entering service? I’ve had to use them as my local rolling stock all my life and I have to confess I’ll miss them when they’re gone.
i wonder if the 365s might be an option to replace 314s. They are on a one year lease which would give time to build up the 385 stock on other routes and allow the 314s to go as planned. I know a couple of six car sets run in the peaks but if the rest were four car the loadings could even out (or cover them with 320s) as I don’t think the platforms could accommodate eight car. Paisley Canal and Inverclyde would revert to 380.
As a Newton branch user I would be delighted with 365s on my line. I know ScotRail are intending to have 4 carriage trains on Neilston services soon in the form of 380s but I wonder if it will be the 365s now that they’re avaliable until May.
The Newton line gets a better mixture than the Neilston which sees mostly 314s
They will operate as 6 cars at peak times using ASDO (auto selective door opening) as required.
Some platforms at Central can only take 6 x 20m. I think some peak trains might still be 318/320 combinations. They will operate as 6 cars at peak times using ASDO (auto selective door opening) as required.
This weekend sees the first class 314 diagrams withdrawn. Whilst it won't mean the immediate withdrawal of any particular unit it reduces the requirement for the class, paving the way for units to start leaving the fleet.
Scot-rail gen site reports 3 class 314 units will be stood down from service tonight, apparently because the Ayr blockade had freed up some units. Not entirely sure how true this is.

I wonder which units will be withdrawn first. A few months ago I remember there were teams of surveyors on a few 314 services who presumably evaluating which units were more reliable and which ones will be going to the scrapyard first. Over the years I’ve been able to pick favourite units (weird, I know), so I’m hoping 202 survives as long as possible.

We've retired the first three Class 314 trains! From Monday, even more Inverclyde services will be operated by our Class 380 fleet, which have sockets, WiFi and toilets on board. We'll introduce more of these over the next few months.
Not weird at all. I still miss 302207, 309623, 312702 and will miss 360104. Part regular familiar units, part nice experiences or first trips on class. Perfectly normal sir.

There’s 3 class 314 units coupled together outside Shields Road just now, couldn’t see numbers but guessing it’s those three. A bit odd because all the usual Inverclyde 314 diagrams seem to have run as usual today.Like Ash on my thread, still need 207 (Also need 206, but that's not being talked about right now)
