That doesn't even look half bad!Not my neatest attempt at livery tweaking, but one of the "what-if" scenarios that I was idly thinking about recently

Both look good. Also a couple of Class 465 Networkers, just two this time (best give the servers a rest).

It's been done before somewhere on this thread.Hello. Can anyone do a HST in Transpennine Livery please? Appreciate this isn’t a ‘slight’ change but curious as to how it would look. Thanks

Nice job. How about extending the dark blue & purple around the front valence?![]()
Something a little more 3D![]()
Now that looks good![]()

Thanks, exactly what I wanted. Looks good. Then again, there is no such thing as a bad livery on a HST.![]()

Wouldn't be allowed in real life, sorry to say.Nice job. How about extending the dark blue & purple around the front valence?

As I remember it, when GNER had the dark lower panel at the front, the entire upper part of the front was yellow. A Google image search supports the idea: https://images.app.goo.gl/xaNnonGjp6oPT49j8Really? I'm sure I remember them having about that much yellow in GNER days.
And every FGW liveried power car had less yellow again as it didn't cover the headlight surrounds, so such an arrangement is obviously allowed. As I remember it, when GNER had the dark lower panel at the front, the entire upper part of the front was yellow. I don't think that anyone has retrofitted HSTs with headlights of sufficient intensity to eliminate the need for yellow fronts. That livery is death on wheels. That is of course, assuming the yellow has to stay!

The window "pillars" were yellow though, no?And every FGW liveried power car had less yellow again as it didn't cover the headlight surrounds, so such an arrangement is obviously allowed.

Original Grand Central had the least of all, and less than is being proposed by painting the valence blue and purple as the headlight surrounds would remain yellow. And every FGW liveried power car had less yellow again as it didn't cover the headlight surrounds, so such an arrangement is obviously allowed.
Seeing as TPE has a fleet of brand new trains, many of which are sitting idle, it's getting pretty far into outlandish territory.... it's not the most outlandish thing on here to suggest that TPE would similarly retrofit any HST...
It's not measured as a fraction of the front surface and it's much less than you'd think.Just to clear it up, any train not fitted with 'super dazzling' headlights has to have at least one third of the front surface area painted warning-yellow. That's why HSTs that have the windscreen width yellow panel have it carried down to the lower section. If they have it full width, just the upper section is sufficient.

I thought only 1M2 had to be yellow?Wouldn't be allowed in real life, sorry to say.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe it's the area as viewed head-on that matters, so since HST front ends slope more than 1m^2 has to actually be painted.I thought only 1M2 had to be yellow?
