Unusual to have two in a week, suspect it’ll be an EMU rather than another 5A set.

It's back on the move. No biggie in terms of itself as it doesn't have to return until the morn, but it may have disrupted a fair few service trains. In fact an Edinburgh to Plymouth is an hour late. Oops plenty of delay repay on that one then!

Tomorrow, Friday 18 July, there will be a special dry run of a Nova 3 train between Liverpool and Scarborough as TPE prepare for entry into service.


The service will leave Liverpool at 05:01 and arrive at Scarborough at 08:00. The return journey will depart Scarborough at 08:31, arriving into Manchester Piccadilly at 11:55 before making its way to Longsight.

The train will sit at:

• Leeds (06:32) for 12 minutes
• Scarborough (08:00) for 31 minutes
• York (09:18) for 6 minutes
• Manchester Piccadilly (11:55) for 17 minutes

Yeah there are numerous 802s running test between York and Newcastle. Had both a 10 car and a 5 car chasing me yesterday

Superb has made it over the coast to Scarborough this morning with the mk5as. Rolled in pretty much on time just before 8am. Very smart looking I have to say sitting beneath the roof at platform 3

Has something gone wrong with the return? RTT shows set off, but it should be in York by now.

1E25 to Scarborough stuck in York for 30 minutes.

Found the problem:

Due to a road vehicle blocking the railway between York and Malton all lines are blocked.
Impact:
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 10:45 19/07

Transpennine Express New Trains Staff Conference

Today is our first dry run of our Nova 3 Fleet ahead of introduction in 2-3 weeks time.

In Limited service from 9th August. Initially on Liverpool to Scarborough with Middlesbrough to be added in 2020

We are NOT cancelling the Mk5 fleet, we need these trains to fulfil our train service commitments

Mk5a. The 802s aren't planned to work the Scarbados/Middlesbro' services, although they have been "type cleared" or "type tested" for the former route.
