The National Insurance question is really annoying!

I have a number but have never needed it until now...I've written to HMRC for written confirmation of it, will be coming in the post towards the end of the week, but I can't get past the application without putting a number in...With the application closing on Wednesday, it seems I'm out of luck, is there anything I can do, pretty gutted :|

Ah yes but I don't think SN, SE or LM get it. Probably just TL and GN employees

It was something FCC negotiated, it was renewed but from what we could see that would be the last time as when SN come aboard they won't get it again.

Do GTR use the VSE test?

Have a full set of enhanced passes (including MMI) from LOROL but failed the VSE.

They do the DFFT which is easy enough but not the VSE to my knowledge

So what is the VSE?

I wasn't sure the MMI could be a normal pass or enhanced so that's interesting

"Please explain how your skills and experience are relevant to the role you are applying for, paying particular attention to how you meet the criteria in the advert"

And

"Now that you have read about the role, can you tell us about your experience and skills and how they would be relevant to the role? Please provide evidence, in detail, by using actual examples that demonstrate your skills and experience for this role"

The same question no? Yet these are 2 competency questions.

Good luck to all those applying.

Having just decided on this career change in September I am now a urine test away from passing all stages and will be looking at a start date of 18th May.

So take it from me, anything is possible :)

Hang on you mean some companies actually stick you on a training course if you pass your DM interview?

You ain't the only one who thinks that........

I think the first one is more asking what type of person you are.

First asks for explanation, and second asks for real life examples to me. It would come across very lazy to just write the same thing in both.

Yes, sounds fishy but as I already work for another TOC, it's easy for me to turn what I wrote from the first question into what I do at work.

Lots of drivers at blackfriars who live in three bridges and some even further. Normally 60 mins max

Thanks is this problematic when trains are delayed ? I see three bridges is an hours commute

Can you tell me the routes signed?

Guessing blackfriars sign bedford to brighton with the elephant and london bridge routes plus wimbledon loop whilst hitchin and kings cross must be stevenage hertford garden cities and kings lynn plus peterborough at the moment?

Am I allowed to apply for 2 positions at the same time.
Have already got an application in with MTR Crossrail. I'm awaiting the outcome of stage 2 but would like to take advantage of this too.

Thanks.

All TL Depots sign all core TL routes (Bedford-Brighton and Wimbledon loop) plus 7oaks (not sure if Brighton do?). Different depots sign different bits for diversions.

All GN depots sign London to Cambridge via the main and Hertford plus Moorgate. Only Lynn and Cambridge depots sign North of Cambridge and only Hitchin, Peterborough and kings x sign North of Hitchin to Peterborough. As a rough rule the further north the depot the less 313 work and more mainline work you do.

I had two application running but the second was put on hold as I have my MMI booked.... I believe this is because TOCs can't book you in twice but please correct me if I'm wrong.

So I would definitely apply as you don't want to put ALL you eggs in one basket;) I've put in an application for this too.....!
