Well, two of us saw 67 + 39 on Friday, so it's still running. Why not just spend a bit of time at the middle cross passage at Green Park or Warren Street in the peak? Chances are it'll turn up...

Ah! Never been to Acton before, was there for the open day today and it was conspicuous by being the only thing in current LU livery- though very much not the "newest" stock there.

Here is a update from 27th may the 1967 stock will no longer work trains between Severn sisters & Walthamstow this is due to the old signalling system being taken out of use.

The last 1967 stock is due to be withdrawn during june, but a farewell railtour is being looked at by running the 1967 stock over some of the other parts of the lul network price for the tour is expect ed to be around £20-£25.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Word on the district dave forums is that the farewell tour will cost about £30 but will be valid all day and will include the chance to ride over rare sections of line on the lul network including the link between the piccadily & victoria lines at finsbury park.

A date of may 15th has been proposed for this tour.

I just wonder whether this means all the weekend closures of the Victoria Line will cease soon? I am alarmed by the plan to close the whole line on one of the Bank Holiday Mondays, as I was planning to ride a class 09 train on the August Bank Holiday.

All the weekend closures? Weekend closures on the Victoria line are very rare. There have only been a couple in the past six months. The asset replacement phase of the Victoria Line upgrade has only just really got going. The upgrade isn't due for completion for around 2 years.

Can I ask - what is the reason for the line closure this weekend [19th and 20th March]? What work is being done?

Thanks.
Noticed today that there are now humps [to provide step-free access] on the northbound platform at Victoria, and on the southbound platforms at Euston and Oxford Circus. It appears that this would have been the "station modernisation work" you mentioned.

I managed to cover all diagrams this evening and found there were 13 rakes of 1967 stock in use:

58 + 76
71 + 33
40 + 41
60 + 61
62 + 03
11 + 84
59 + 79
75 + 78
33 + 71
49 + 05
10 + 29
39 + 67
85 + 34

And yes, I agree that 11065 + 11066 is in service - I bashed it, and also collected 11059 + 11060 and 11063 + 11064 today. :)

That's only 12 trains - 3071 + 3133 are on your list twice. No withdrawals have been reported on District Dave recently, but several trains of 09TS have entered service. As well as the 24 units you saw there are another 10 on my list that aren't known to have gone, but some of them might have.

These units should have been withdrawn by now (according to the planned withdrawal dates):

3026, 3182 - last seen on 12th March.
3114, 3047, 3054, 3186 - last seen on 15th March.
3005, 3011, 3140, 3041, 3149, 3182 - last seen on 25th March.

There are 14 trains of 1967TS still in service. Units 3054, 3182 and 3186 and three others have been withdrawn. One of them is probably 3026, as it was running with 3182.
3028 and 3155 haven't been seen since 21st February. If these two have also gone, the planned withdrawal dates must have changed, as some units (3005, 3011, 3149 etc.) are still in use, but should have been withdrawn a couple of months ago.

Well over the past three days, I have managed to get on 16 units of 1967 and it will be the last time I do so as I won't be able to go to London before they are withdrawn :(

So long 1967 stock...

1967TS:

I saw 3029 + 3110 and 3067 + 3139 in service on 7th April.

A stock:

Unit 5161 derailed in Wembley Park sidings last month. At the moment it is not known whether it has been withdrawn, but it is likely as more S stock is now being delivered (7 production trains now in London, with 6 in service).

According to posts by 'bullhead' on District Dave, unit 5066 which was the Rail Adhesion Train (RAT) last autumn has been withdrawn, and that Rail Adhesion Car 6036 is now formed in unit 5234 (probably as 5234-6036-6235-5235). This unit will stay as the RAT, so trailer 6234 is probably also withdrawn.

5161 has returned to service, and it seems that the RAT is formed as a five car unit - possibly 5234-6036-6234-6235-5235.
