Probably the Great Western Electrification thread, almost at 7 years, 10,000 responses and over 2 million views

edit: there's longer running stuff in the quizzes/games subforum with more responses but in terms of 'proper' threads I think GWE still takes it

Wow! Pretty momentous! In any case, roll on HS2 from now onwards.

I've just thought having written this that you probably mean by age, but here you go anyway in case this is what you meant! I've obviously been spending too long indoors recently, if I've done this. Longest thread by subforum:

The longest active non-quiz thread is the Football thread. I have, obviously, only listed subforums to which I have access - I know there are others, or at least that there have been. The Becoming a Train Drive (1,801 posts, started 30th April 2008) thread has been around for longest, I think, certainly longer than the oldest in Quizzes & Games, Guess the Station (42,381, started 6th December 2010).

I always wondered whether this thread was more suited to Traction and Rolling stock rather than International Transport (although there is relevance to both). I originally started the thread from a personal observation of a stored set on the old Fawkham jct link, asking about its presence there, but then evolved into the full withdrawal discussion.

Considering I haven't heard any reports about when the retained sets will go, it won't run out of gas for a while (unless there is a long dormant phase that gets it auto-locked).
